“a true new york city original - nothing but heart, crafting his own style to the backbeat of the city…” - Alan Merrill
Andy Bigan is an American multi-intrumentalist, working primarily as a drummer and percussionist based in New York City. He is best known as the drummer and musical director for Snow through the success of his 1992 single "Informer," which spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. His other notable credits include collaborations with the late Alan Merrill, rockabilly artist Robert Gordon, blues guitarist Stevie Cochran, and The Suits, featuring actress Kathleen Turner and Jay Weiss. In recent years, he’s built his resume in production and A/V engineering, with skills dating back to his production work on the 1999 season of Good Morning America.
With over 40 years of professional music industry experience, I’ve honed my craft across various genres and musical styles, with an array of eclectic bands and artists. I’ve spent most of my life in New York City, playing live and recording, but music has taken me across the world on various tours. From early beginnings in a high school psych-rock garage band to touring the world with a platinum record with SNOW, to playing Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, to playing the blues back home in NYC. It’s always been an adventure.
More recently, I’ve worked extensively in production as an experienced audio/video technician. While I’m traveling less these days, I’m available for session work, remote recording, and collaborating on new projects.
